Castor Oil

Castor oil is a vegetable oil made from castor beans .

It is also high in ricinoleic acid, which is a monounsaturated fatty acid. (also found in avocados). These fats are also referred to a humectants as they keep the skin moist. While castor oil is widely known as a laxative , the fatty acid makeup makes it great for the skin. Castor oil is also known to have antimicrobial/ anti-inflammatory properties. It is also known to be used in the treatment of acne, psoriasis and dermatosis .

Rice Bran Oil

Rice Bran Oil is a vegetable oil and is extracted out of the hard outer brown layer of the rice husk and germ 

The oil is then extracted and refined in to a clear liquid for consumable purposes.This oil is used in cooking and very popular in the Asian continent . It is often used in cosmetics,confectionery , culinary , hair products among a few. Rice Bran Oil is rich in Vitamin E , and very moisturizing with properties similar to olive oil. It is used in soap making as its a mild oil and known to help with dry, itchy, flaky skin ,sensitive and mature skin types.

Sweet Almond Oil

Ohhh Sweet Almond ! The dynamite little nut !

Sweet Almond Oil , not to be confused with Bitter Almond Oil is made from the tree that produces sweet almonds. Almonds pack a powerhouse of nutrients that consist of healthy fats , fiber, vitamins ( abundance of Vitamin A, D & E), minerals and phytochemicals (plant chemicals). In soap making it produces a rich conditioning lather and known to sooth dry, itchy, irritated skin hence why its your skin’s bestie. This oil also has antibacterial (Vitamin E) properties so it eases against minor skin irritations , it is also known to have anti aging properties (reducing fine lines and wrinkles ),it softens and tones skin and an all around team player to soap makers .
