Our Butters

Cocoa Butter is obtained from whole cocoa beans .

Yes , the same ones used for chocolate. The difference is, in chocolate the beans are fermented before they are dried but, Cocoa butter is used in a variety of edible ways and cosmetics . In soapmaking it adds firmness and moisture to the soap bar and extends the shelf life as the melting point is about the same as the human body temperature . This, along with the natural y occurring antioxidants , prevents the bar from going rancid, hence extending the shelf life. Cocoa butters also contains a blend of antioxidants and good fatty acids, making it another great addition for eczema , psoriasis, and other skin irritations . It is also known to help with stretch marks .
